Online Pharmacy: World in a Nutshell

Today, the world has shriveled into your computer. Everything is possible online. Dating, making friends, paying bills, shopping online, reading books… everything is possible on the internet. At the click of mouse button, you can find the best deals available on any product. Earlier, errands like shopping and visiting the nearest pharmacy were tedious tasks which required investment of many hours. Earlier, when one would fall ill or require a medicine, it would mean a trip to the hospital and then a trip to the local pharmacy. That’s not all.

The local pharmacy would require a prescription from the doctor and there was no option of buying a cheaper version of the same medicine. Today all that has changed. Now the internet offers online pharmacies which offer medicines at competitive prices. Many prescription drugs have cheaper counterparts called generic drugs which are easily available online. Earlier people used to find it awkward to ask for drugs like Viagra and cialis. Today these drugs can be bought from the anonymity of your home. So, online pharmacy is a boon to those who do not want people to know about their illness.

However there is a flip side to the story. Sometimes online pharmacies can be just a way to trick people. One of my friends ordered a medicine from an online pharmacy only to find a placebo delivered to him. Some online pharmacies sell habit forming drugs which cannot be sold without a doctor’s prescription and people get addicted to such drugs which later on cause many side effects. Many a times online pharmacies have no physical address so that one can trace them. So before investing your hard earned money in an online pharmacy purchase, check whether the pharmacy has a tangible address. Also it is imperative to take medicine from a pharmacy which takes your medical history.

So next time you order a drug from an online pharmacy make sure it is a reputable pharmacy, with a tangible physical address. After all your health is in your hands.
